Our Favourite Spring Looks Using Our Pigments

Spring is a fresh and exciting season, and with it comes new and often viral makeup trends that blow up on Instagram! If you’re a makeup fan, then it's natural you’ll want to try out the latest makeup trends and experiment with some gorgeous makeup products that’ll make your look pop.

Spring 2019 has seen all the classic trends making a comeback: bronzed cheeks, dewy skin and pretty shades of pastel. However, there’s a twist this Spring with bright pops of colour and metallic finishes being used in some eye-opening runway looks. We’ve summarised some of the hottest trends for you girls to keep your looks fresh and photo-shoot ready.

Electric Pink Everywhere

We’re loving the use of electric pink shades in dramatic Spring makeup looks recently, especially since this daring shade is being used on various areas of the face in creative ways.

Whilst electric pink may seem daunting, we’ve got some great ways for you to incorporate this colour into your looks.

For example, you can use one of our electric pink pigments on your eyelids to create a fun, girly and on-trend eye look. Use a dense packing brush to pack the pigment onto the lids and then carefully blend to ensure a smooth finish. Complete your look with a pair of our 3D Mink Lashes and a swish of eyeliner perfect for a night out with the girls!

Top tip: spray your brush with a little setting spray before dipping into the pigment. It’ll really help the colours to pack on well and pop on your eyelids.

Golden Glitter Goddess

If pink isn’t your thing and you're more of a metallic kind of girl, you’ll be pleased to know that glittery, golden shades are in this Spring. This stunning and versatile shade can be used to transform you into a glowing, golden goddess and are perfect for bo-ho inspired looks.

We love using our luxurious golden pigments on high points of the face and on the collarbones to create a highlighted and glamorous look. If you’ve got any Spring festivals or gigs coming up soon, this can be the perfect opportunity for you to give this trend a try!

Gently sweep on some golden pigment across your collarbones and cheekbones and even on your eyelids to create a thematic and head-turning look. The beauty of gold looks? They photograph well in warm afternoon sunlight, so make sure you get that shot for your Insta!

Metallic, Foiled Lips

We think this is such an exciting trend and opens up so much opportunity to makeup gurus and look-creators just like you to wow the internet with intense and dramatic looks.

Whilst they look potentially complicated and hard to apply, achieving the perfect metallic lip isn't actually as hard as you might think...

Take any metallic pigment shade from our range and mix it with a little lip gloss to create your very own custom colour! Whether you’re a cool-toned girl and want to slay with silver, or you’re feeling the bold and bronze look, you can easily create a metallic lip look with our pigments.

Take your favourite lip brush and start smoothing on that colour. We find that it helps when you say “cheese” in the mirror - it’ll help the metallic lip colour apply onto the lips without sinking into any fine lines or wrinkles. Give it some time to set before using your lips again as you don’t want that foiled lip to crack!

Jewel Tones for Makeup Queens

We’ve seen a lot of people favouring intense jewel tones in both makeup and fashion, and we think there have been some beautiful looks to come out of this trend.

Taking influence from the jewel-toned green eye looks from Versace, using green pigment on the eyes either as an all-over look or as eyeliner will be sure to have you looking on-point.

Here at Lick and Lash, we think you can get really creative with this look. Using a fine angled brush, you can create a sharp, angled eyeliner effect on the eye over the top of a plain base using pigment. Wing it out a bit more than usual if you want it to stand out a bit more and use concealer to clean up the edges to keep it looking sharp and fierce.

Styling tip: we think jewel tones on the eyes pair perfectly with a nude lip colour and the classic, slicked-back ponytail.
